Nine Pennies

The Nine Pennies Band is made up of 10 musician ( trumpet, trombone, Sax contralto, Sax tenore, Sax Baritono, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Voice) and it was born in 1998;
The Nine Pennies Repertoire includes very famous and simple tunes, that were played in the restaurants and in the ballrooms back in the 20s and in the 30s; tunes created by musicians such as Carmichael, Beiderbecke, Ellington, Rodgers, Williams.

Their wonderful arrangements, are based and inspired by the Paul Whiteman, Frankie Trumbauer, Jean Goldkette and Bix Beiderdecke orchestras and are mainly those created by "the Ghosts of twenties" band from Rome, by Giorgio Cuscito and FAbiano "Red" Pellini, two amazing italian musicians.

In the last few years, to meet the always more frequent requests of their audience, The NIne Pennies added to their repertoire the wonderful music of the big swing bands of the 30s and the 40s and some arrangements of the Italian Swing of the 40s and the 50s

The Nine Pennies will entertain their audience on Saturday night with a repertoire created just for the SBSF dancers, including the original arrangement of the Keep Punchin' version of the Big Apple.

NP BIG BAND

The NP Big Band is a 16 element orchestra that plays swing dance music of the great American orchestras of the thirties and forties.
The songs are mainly taken from the books of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw, mixed with several songs from other important bands of that years.
The orchestra was born in Genoa (Italy) in 2008 and debuted there in Be-Lindy Zena Camp (November 2008), and then took part in the first edition of the “Swing, Brother, Swing” (Bologna, May 2009). This year, the band will be one ofotagonist of the "Battle of the Bands" -  a re-anactment of the Historic Savoy Ballroom and it will also play live for the whole Killer Dillers show on Saturday night.

The Billy Bros Jumpin' Orchestra

The Billy Bros. J.O. music programme, with the add of self penned songs and the freshness of new arrangements, due to the wild talk of the band-leader Maurizio 'Big Daddy' Meterangelo, goes from personal redo of the american Swing songs of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Jimmie Lunceford, Tommy Dorsey, Erskine Hawkins, Chick Webb and Louis Prima, to the italian Swing songs with Fred Buscaglione, Renato Carosone, Alberto Rabagliati, Natalino Otto, Ernesto Bonino, Gorni Kramer, Vittorio De Sica, Renato Rascel, Domenico Modugno, Corrado Lojacono and more...

The Billy Bros. Jumpin' Ork. for the melodic repertoire blows the fuse with some of the coolest italian female voices, while gives its best with acrobatic stage antics, gags, hard-boiled stories, swing retro-culture and a dazzling zoot-suited wardrobe!!

They will fight against the NP Big Band in the spectacular Battle ot the bands, that, with such musicians and artists, will be absolutely unforgettable!

Luise Hot Jazz Trio

This trio comes from the big passion of Renzo Luise, fanatic collector of everything about the legendary guitar-player Django Reinhardt and for the music of the great manouche. Happiness, joy, swing and energy are the key words for this combo which includes, besides Renzo Luise, Roberto Resaz at the bass and Giulio Smooth Cross at the rythmic guitar, and that offers swing tunes cooked italian style with and addition of plenty gipsy sauce.

The trio will play at the late night party on Saturday night.
